UNIVIE: 654th anniversary

On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, the University of Vienna celebrates its Dies Academicus on the occasion of the 654th anniversary of the founding of the alma mater Rudolphina Vindobonensis.

On this occasion, Alexander Van der Bellen (President of Austria) presents the rings of honor of the Republic of Austria to four outstanding graduates as part of a "Promotio sub auspiciis Praesidentis rei publicae" together with Rector Heinz W. Engl. The University of Vienna also honors the French chemist and Nobel Prize winner Jean-Marie Lehn with an honorary doctorate and then invites to the Science Talk with ERC Prize winners and Marie Curie Fellows.
