Sultan is studying pharmacy and is currently working on her diploma thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gerhard Ecker. Her thesis is about docking experiments on the breast cancer receptor protein (BCRP), a xenobiotic transporter which plays a role in drug-drug interactions and multi-drug resistance.
Constanze, also pharmacy student, currently is working on her diploma thesis which is co-supervised by Dr. Claire Colas. The aim of her thesis will be to identify the structural determinants defining the substrate specificity of the human Bile acid transporters NTCP and ASBT. Therefore she is using structure-based methodologies, such as homology modeling and ligand-based Pharmacophores.
