Goodbye Michi

15.01.2021

An era is coming to an end. Thank you very much for being part of our group for such a long time! You will definitly leave a big hole, not just from the scientific side but especially personally.

We will miss you very much, Michi! Thank you for everything. We wish you all the best for your future. Please keep in touch with us!

There are many nicknames we have had for you after you've been a team member for so long. Most of us don't even remember when you started being a #pharminfo. You just always have been a big part of whatever the meaning of being a #pharminfo is. Back in the days in the year 2013 (or even earlier) you started your journey with us. Let's try to at least explain one of those nicknames.

If we today take a look into our group knowledge archive we find a page on when and why this system was implemented in the first place. Under the Headline "Introduction" it says: "At the Teambuilding 2013 we decided that a Content management system could be helpful to address at least some problems especially regarding to sustainability and knowledge flow." No wonder this page is tagged with "Michael-Viereck". You especially have always been Mister Group Knowledge and this page will forever be tagged with your name.

This is one of the many reasons, on the scientific side, why you leave us a big hole to fill. On the other, more personal side, it is even harder to not see you in office anymore. It was easy to find pictures of you as you probably never missed the opportunity to start other private activities besides work and science. We could have created a huge album with tons of pictures with you smiling, cheering, drawing, ice skating, hiking, eating and so on and so on and so on...

You would have deserved all of that as a good bye party - probably a whole weekend full of events, just to celebrate you, but yeah, sadly this wasn't possible due to the situation we are all in.

But nevertheless be rest assured: we miss you! We all wish you nothing but the best for your future and please, please, please... to the next #pharminfo group activity possible, you have to come!

Thank you Michael!
